A Community Workshop In Downtown Brattleboro
High Street entrance (to the left of the mall entrance)
In 2021 we relocated from Frost Street to the building at the corner of High and Green Streets in downtown Brattleboro.
In this new home, we join a community of other makers with 16 artist studios, The Wheelhouse Clay Center, glass blower Matthew Weill , Vermont Center for Photography, and Bario Neal Jewelry Designers. The building is also home to A Vermont Table Restaurant & Catering, Shiatsu School of Vermont, and Malisun Boutique.
HatchSpace occupies the entire third floor with an annex CNC shop on the second floor and individual work studios on the top floor.
View from the Harmony parking lot.
Our 8,000 SF home includes five dedicated workshops, open work benches, a social space with a kitchen, and a meeting room. Our shops include our main workspace, a light duty CNC studio, a heavy duty shop, and heavy duty CNC room (on the second floor) and a finishing room. Please visit "Our Tools" for a complete inventory of the tools and equipment available to members.
To renovate our new home at 22 High Street, we engaged Deconstruction Works to salvage and reuse materials from the interior demolition. Thanks to their good work, 60 sheets of plywood and 400 pieces of strapping were denailed and reused; cedar shims were composted or used for home heating; hardwood floor, doors, ceiling tiles, and windows were saved for reuse; all fasteners, conduit, wire, and metal studs were recycled.
