No woodworking experience required.
Come learn how to carve with traditional European and Japanese carving tools. Through demonstrations and hands on practice, you can see what just a couple of carving tools can do. Play with techniques and chisels to carve a design out of basswood. The class also includes a discussion of tool maintenance and sharpening.
If you have cloth gloves, please bring them. Tools and materials are provided.

Instructor: Noriko Isogai
Noriko started carving Buddha statues for temples while living in Japan about forty years ago. Since moving to the United States, she expanded her carving techniques to create her own style. Her work has been shown through the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen, as well as the Putney Craft Tour. She works mostly on commission.

Payment is due at the time of registration. Unpaid registrations are subject to cancellation.

There are no refunds, transfers, make-ups or deferments for missed classes.
HatchSpace reserves the right to cancel any class for any reason. A class may be canceled in the event the minimum number of students for the class is not reached. In this case, registrants will receive a full refund or class credit, and notified by valid email provided at registration.
