3-Legged Stool – An Introduction to Turned Furniture

No woodworking experience required.

In this two-day workshop, we’ll use the lathe, band saw, drill press, and router, to turn dried lumber into fun and functional 3-legged stools. The turned legs offer a great introductory exercise to those new to the wood lathe. Sanding and painting (optional) can be done right on the lathe as well. The seat will be sawn, drilled, and shaped off the lathe and thus allow for an   introduction to other woodworking techniques such as safe use of the band saw and drill press. This project is appropriate for beginners, but also offers interesting challenges to those with some woodworking experience.   And, since three points define a plane, these stools never rock!

Cost of materials included.

* Bring a bag lunch.
