    Yes, this is a slide rule. I used one of these a lot when I was in High School. Good for multiplying, dividing and basic logarithms.

    Well, I know its a slide rule... that's about it!

    I have my grandfathers slide rue around here somewhere. Could't bear to throw it out.

    Whenever I see a sliderule I think of Mr Oxender, my high school trigonometry teacher.  He had the worst dandruff I'd ever seen before or since.  You could hear it dropping on your papers if he leaned over you to help.    I didn't ask for much help and as a result don't remember very much at all about the slide rule.
